The "Foie Gras Gourmet" goose Foie Gras block, has a sweet and refined flavour, leaving no foodie indifferent.
In France, owing to its higher price, goose Foie Gras is less popular than duck Foie Gras. Nevertheless, it is goose Foie Gras which is preferred by gourmets, and served in the greatest restaurants.
Thanks to its smooth and consistent texture, this block of goose Foie Gras is ideal for spreading on toast.
It makes a perfect gift for parties and birthdays - a delicacy appreciated by any gourmet that can be kept for several years.
A Foie Gras of impeccable quality
"Foie Gras Gourmet" goose Foie Gras from the South West France complies with very stringent production standards, which set it apart from standard quality products.
The grey geese of the Landes are born and raised in the open air on family farms in the beautiful plains of Chalosse, in the south of the Landes in the southwest of France. Their food mainly comprises the grass which they peck at freely in the fields, along with cereals such as corn grown on the farm.
The “Foie Gras Gourmet” blocks of goose Foie Gras from the South West France are made from goose livers which are selected and de-veined by hand. These are then mixed to achieve a uniform presentation, and a refined and consistent taste with no visible fat.
Our cooks use traditional know-how, convinced that only the high quality of their work can satisfy demanding consumers.
Our blocks of Foie Gras do not contain any colouring, additives or artificial flavours.
Storage and serving suggestions
Each block of Foie Gras comes packaged in a metal container and as long as it is kept in a cool and dry place can be stored in perfect condition for several years in complete safety.
Place the block of goose Foie Gras in the refrigerator the day before you plan to enjoy it. Ensure you remove it just 15 minutes before serving.
Once you have turned the Foie Gras out of its container, it can be served accompanied by hot toast, or cut into thin slices to accompany a salad.
If you wish, you can add seasoning (a little salt or pepper) to the Foie Gras or enjoy it with onion relish or fig chutney.
A sweet white wine (Sauternes, Gewurztraminer) is a classic accompaniment to Foie Gras on toast.
Should the Foie Gras not be finished in one serving, it can be kept for several days in the refrigerator on a small plate covered with cling film.
We advise you to keep one or two blocks of Foie Gras in the refrigerator at all times, in case friends visit unexpectedly... or simply for times that you want to share a treat with your family.
