Domaine Tariquet: Tradition and Excellence in Gascony

Located in Gascony, in the Southwest of France, the Domaine Tariquet has belonged to the same family since 1912. The brothers Armin and Rémy Grassa, fifth generation winemakers, now manage the family estate of Domaine Tariquet. The estate is a grower-producer: all the wines and Bas-Armagnacs come exclusively from grapes harvested from the estate's vineyards.

The harvest is done mechanically with direct destemming in the vineyard. A skin maceration begins during transport, followed by static settling and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, thus preserving the aromatic freshness of the grapes.

An artisanal distillation of Armagnac

The Armagnac is continuously distilled in a traditional copper Armagnac still heated by wood fire. Aging takes place in century-old cellars, with varied atmospheres, in lightly toasted French oak barrels from the Vosges and Allier forests. This method preserves the finesse, liveliness, and fruity character of the young eaux-de-vie.

The Bas-Armagnac Very Special Classique from Domaine Tariquet carries the VS (Very Special) designation, guaranteeing aging of at least two years in oak barrels. It also benefits from the AOP Bas-Armagnac, a mark of authenticity and a deep connection to its Gascon terroir.

Flavor of the Bas-Armagnac Very Special Classique

A pale gold color with bright reflections. A lively and expressive nose, dominated by notes of white fruits, plum, and a delicate floral touch. The attack on the palate is fresh, balanced, and fruity, revealing a beautiful aromatic intensity with slightly spicy nuances. The finish is harmonious, marked by the typical liveliness of young armagnacs.

Tasting advice

  • With foie gras: an ideal pairing. The fruity freshness of the Bas-Armagnac VS Classique highlights the richness and creaminess of foie gras, whether half-cooked, in terrine, or pan-seared.
  • As an aperitif or digestif: at room temperature to appreciate all its liveliness, or slightly chilled "on the rocks" for more lightness.
  • In cocktails: its freshness and liveliness make it an ideal base for original creations combining tradition and modernity.

At Foie Gras Gourmet, you will discover a unique selection of pairings to enhance every nuance of this Bas-Armagnac. An authentic sensory experience, between Gascon tradition and the pleasure of the table.
