L’Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) is a European designation certifying a product’s origin and quality. This European label enables consumers to choose their foie gras with complete confidence, as its geographical origin and quality are guaranteed by compliance with strict specifications (hygiene at breeding and production sites, traceability, and extensive open spaces for the ducks).
The many tourists who visit the farms of southwestern France can see that the birds are raised in large open-air spaces. Visitors, who can then form their own opinions, are rarely shocked, and most of them buy foie gras.

Same foie gras as those I used to have when I lived in Fumel (South West of France). The little gift of foie gras was much appreciated and delicious.
